Using Template Designer

Template Designer has two main screens; the first deals with documents creation and editing existing documents and the second is the edit screen where templates can be customised. The following links describe the editing functions available in Linnworks.

Accessing Template Designer

Template Designer can be found by navigating to Settings > Template Designer  

Template Designer Screen Overview


  • Add Predefined: Clicking this will show a dropdown menu of template types
    • Clicking one of the template types will bring up a gallery of predefined templates for that type
    • Select the template that most suits your needs and click Use This
  • Add New Template: Clicking this will show a dropdown of template types
    • Clicking a template type will open a blank template of that type

Conditional This shows whether printing conditions have been applied for this template
  • A conditional template will be marked with a  
  • For more information on printing conditions, please see this guide
Email Attachment Clicking this will toggle the template between enabled and disabled 
  • Enabling this option will allow this template to be used as a PDF attachment in emails
  • Email attachment only applies to invoice templates
  • For instance, if despatch emails are being sent by Linnworks, an invoice for the order can be attached

Enabled Clicking this will toggle the template between enabled and disabled
  • Disabling a template will make it unavailable to use when documents are generated in Linnworks
Edit Click to edit the selected template
Delete Clicking this will delete the selected template
  • It is not possible to delete a default template
  • Once a template is deleted there is no way to recover it
Copy Clicking this will make a copy of the selected template
